Jackie and Chris: Castle Rock Engagement Photography

Friends, meet Chris and Jackie.  Chris and Jackie are one of those awesome couples that magically found me online.  (Honestly, I don’t know how this happens in the sea of millions of photographers, but it does.  So, to me, it is magical.)

Anyway, Jackie and Chris are not only awesome because they found me online; they are also awesome for these reasons:

1.  They are very clearly in love

2. They are super fun to be with

3. They are totally natural and authentic

I can’t wait to capture their wedding in August!  Here’s to finding true love!

The Gibsons: Castle Rock Photographer

I LOVED capturing this family.  Jenn and Zach have a sense of adventure and a willingness to try anything that made this shoot nothing less than totally memorable.  Let’s put it this way: 18 month old son, chocolate ice cream, and white linen pants.  Jenn is awesome for going along for the ride!  Check out these shots and tell me if you would ever eat chocolate ice cream with your 18 month old while wearing white linen…I think not.

Here is some feedback from Jenn on the pictures (used with permission):

Engagement for a deploying soldier and his soon to be bride: Castle Rock Photography

It is always an honor for me to photograph a member of our military.  Anna emailed me two weeks before Jay was deploying for Afghanistan and asked if I could capture their engagement before he left.  Although we were in the middle of moving and traveling, I couldn’t say no.  And I am glad I didn’t. They were a joy to capture.

Here is some feedback from Anna on the shoot: (this message is Anna approved)

“I’m sorry responding so late! But YES:)I received the link and the CD and I LOVE the photos you took! They are exactly what I wanted and so creative! I think some of my favorites are the last two you took (the one where we are holding hands and the one when Jay picked me up).  I have already showed my fam the photos and they love them too! Thank you for doing this in such short notice! I’m so glad you took some photos of us before he left and now, we will have some photos for the save the dates!!!:)Thank you so much, you did such a great job Celina!”

My nephew (the sweetest): Castle Rock, Colorado Photographers

So, it should be obvious to everyone that I abandoned my “Project 52″.  So obvious in fact, that I may delete the entire series.  But then again, maybe it is good for some of you to know that I am not perfect.

Let’s just cut to the chase.  I have the cutest nephew in the world.

Here are some of my favorites from a recent visit I made to his house.

Enjoy!

By far my favorite image of sweet Nathan:

For those of you who do check this page and care about my career as a photographer, I think I may be back on track.  I am two shoots behind in publishing to my blog, so I’ll see what I can do.  And if I can’t do it, then I’ll just start from today.  For now, it feels good to be back!
Have you ever had to set things aside just to survive in life?

my favorite things: Sewing!

I don’t sew very often, but I really love doing it!  I am by no means seamstress material; I can only do a few very basic projects, so please don’t email me and ask me to sew your bedroom curtains.  I won’t be able to help you.  But when I get the notion to start sewing, nothing can stop me and I will usually spend a couple of days or weeks just sewing away.  Today I spent the whole day working on a couple of baby shower gifts  (to be revealed later) and I plan on doing some more sewing tomorrow night.  I mean, since it’s going to be freezing out, I midaswell find something to enjoy indoors!

Whats your favorite indoor thing to do on cold winter day?
