Anyway, Jackie and Chris are not only awesome because they found me online; they are also awesome for these reasons:

1.  They are very clearly in love

2. They are super fun to be with

3. They are totally natural and authentic

I can’t wait to capture their wedding in August!  Here’s to finding true love!

The Gibsons

It is always an honor for me to photograph a member of our military.  Anna emailed me two weeks before Jay was deploying for Afghanistan and asked if I could capture their engagement before he left.  Although we were in the middle of moving and traveling, I couldn’t say no.  And I am glad I didn’t. They were a joy to capture.

“I’m sorry responding so late! But YES I received the link and the CD and I LOVE the photos you took! They are exactly what I wanted and so creative! I think some of my favorites are the last two you took (the one where we are holding hands and the one when Jay picked me up).  I have already showed my fam the photos and they love them too! Below you will find several photos of our households favorite canine resident, who also happens to be the only canine resident, but also the prince of the castle- or couch.

I’d like to say a few words about the famous Wilson (the Whoodle) Baldwin.  Here they are:

Wilson (Mister Wilson, Wilsy, Wilsy guy, Mister guy, Willy)  is seriously the best dog in the whole world and by “best” I mean “best ever for all of eternity”.  For the sake of brevity, I will just offer one bit of evidence for your consideration.  The entire time I did this photo shoot, he sat completely still because I told him to “stay” and yet wagged his tail the whole time. I mean, how cute is that?

So without further ado, we’ll let week three photos speak for themselves.

I’m pretty excited to be participating in a photography project called “Project 52.”  Jodi Friedman of MCP Actions is encouraging photographers to learn and grow by taking one intentional photograph every week.  She’s suggesting themes for each week and while I may not use them, I’m still excited to take a photograph every week.  I love photography, but it’s like the contractor whose house never gets finished… I end up capturing everyone elses moments and don’t capture my own.  Hopefully, this will serve as a bit of a digital diary for me and at the end of the year, I’ll be able to remember what I did in 2011!

Homemade bread with fresh milled flour is very good for you.  I don’t know a lot about the details, but I know that the flour and bread you buy in the store is garbage and your body can’t actually digest it.  So when you make your own bread you are getting actual nutrients.  Plus you can add fun stuff to it like raisins, flax, honey, oats and the list goes on.  In addition, you have the ability to make all your friends salivate when you post on your Facebook that your husband made you homemade bread.

Anyway, that is just what we did this week- he made homemade bread and I made everyone jealous by posting it on my facebook.

This recipe is topped with warm honey when it comes out of the oven!

Another great thing about making bread is giving fresh bread to people as gifts.  This may sound silly, but we love to give people a loaf of homemade bread and they love receiving it.  I mean, it’s not like that is what I will get you for your birthday or anything.

Anyway, just another thing I love about this life- homemade bread!

My favorite scent is Eucalyptus Spearmint.  It’s not cheap, but trust me I feel strongly this will change your life. I first found this in a yoga class I took.  The instructor would have us lay down at the end of class and close our eyes and she would come around with her soothing voice and quiet steps and rub her hands together over your head so you knew she was there with her soothing scents and crazy abs and she would gently massage your neck or your arms or something else that made you feel like a million dollars and smell like heaven all day.  Anyway, I always thought it was just her magic yoga dust and I never knew what it was until I went to my friends Kristin’s house and she had the soap.  Of course, I immediately ran out and got us some.  I took the cheap way out with the soap, because it’s pretty expensive, so I put 1/2 in the soap dispenser and added 1/2 target soap. (It’s ok to save money even on things you love.)  Still smells great and makes me feel like I live in a spa.  Or with the calm-voiced, crazy-abs yoga teacher.

The bottle says this, ” Think clearly.  Eucalyptus essential oil clears the mind to improve concentration.  Spearmint essential oil is uplifting and helps the mind to focus.”  What it doesn’t say is this, ” You may come out of the bathroom feeling like a superstar.  The essential oils in this bath salt may make you feel like you will live through this migraine/backache/neck pain and even come out a better human.”

Seriously, love the bath salt.  Smells so good and makes the bathroom smell good for most of the day.
